U of C Author Lecture Live Stream

Maven provided professional live streaming services for the University of Calgary’s Distinguished Writers Program, featuring an evening with author Carmen Maria Machado at The GRAND. The event, which included a keynote lecture and an "in-conversation" session, was broadcast live through the University’s Zoom Webinar platform to a national audience.

To capture the intimate setting of the Flanagan Theatre while ensuring a high-definition broadcast, Maven utilized a dual-camera URSA Broadcast G2 setup managed by the Maven GEMINI production core. The production team coordinated closely with the venue to integrate live audio mixes and pre-show content, including looped slides and video playback. Our technical director managed the live switch and presentation support, while also facilitating real-time closed captioning for virtual attendees. Following the event, Maven delivered a polished, edited program recording, ensuring the university had a high-quality digital archive of this premier literary event.
