Open Heavens - Calgary’s Largest Gospel Concert

Since 2015, Maven has been the broadcast partner for New Covenant Assembly’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration, Open Heavens, at the BMO Center in Calgary. What began as a three-camera production has grown into a 10-camera broadcast, reaching thousands of viewers worldwide via YouTube Live.

The CONSTELLATION production core manages the full signal chain: live stream encoding to YouTube, IMAG to the venue’s LED screens, and ISO recordings of all 10 cameras for post-production. The production also integrates animated graphics, redundant video playback, live social media feeds, and signal distribution to DSMs and other displays in key places throughout the venue. With up to 8,000 attendees and distances between the broadcast control room, FOH, and stage exceeding 250 metres, fibre optic cabling is used throughout to transport all video signals. A 20+ user crew intercom system keeps camera operators, the front-of-house team, and the engineering crew coordinated throughout the night. Following the event, Maven delivers a high-quality program recording alongside full camera ISO recordings for post-production.
