CAJ 2025 Annual Conference & Awards

Maven served as the live production and AV partner for the 2025 Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) Annual Conference. This complex engagement required comprehensive technical management across four concurrent event spaces, providing a seamless experience for Calgary’s journalism community.

In the main plenary room, we deployed a robust setup including dual projector screens, comfort monitors, and a professional audio reinforcement system featuring a mix of stage and audience Q&A microphones. Our team managed technical planning and a custom streaming graphics package for the highlight of the summit: the awards gala. For this high-stakes session, we upgraded the production to a four-person crew, utilizing a specialized dual-PTZ camera workflow to broadcast the ceremony live. Additionally, we equipped three breakout rooms with independent presentation and sound systems to support the conference’s diverse slate of sessions, ensuring high-quality execution for every speaker.
